Education
- College Coaching: ILI works with high school students to assess student and family needs, address barriers, and identify and focus on strengths. ILI helps students navigate the college application process, financial aid, career exploration, and provides referrals to general social service agencies for other needs.
- College Preparation Workshops and Presentations: ILI presents information to students and parents about college readiness, scholarships, financial aid, workforce development, and other topics related to the college preparation process.
- Indiana Latino Education Summit: ILI provides information to high school students about how to successfully prepare for and complete the college access component of the college process. A motivational session, workshop presentations, and college and opportunities fair is provided for attendees.
- Scholarships: ILI awards $1,000 need and merit-based scholarships to up to 15 students who show academic excellence and community service involvement. Preference is given to applicants who are Latino first-generation college students. Our academic scholarship applications are currently closed for 2022. Applications for 2023 will open in November.
- Pathways to Careers Initiative: For students accepted to IUPUI, Ivy Tech Indianapolis, or Marian University. ILI will provide support services, professional and academic guidance, and activities created to foster success for participants throughout their higher education. Paid professional development and mentoring will also be provided.
- Freshmen Employment Exploration Program: ILI secures community partners to host incoming college freshmen over the summer. The program includes real world experience as well as assistance from ILI staff who guide students to develop their resume and provides professional development training’s. ILI provides students with a $1,000 scholarship upon completion of the program. Applications for the 2022 First Year Employment are currently closed. 2023 applications will open in the Fall.
- Internship Program: ILI secures community partners to host interns over the summer. The internship includes real world experience as well as assistance from ILI staff who guide students to develop their resume and conduct career research projects. ILI provides interns with a $2,400 scholarship upon completion of the internship. Applications for the 2022 Internship are currently closed. 2023 applications will open in the Fall.
- Fellowship Program: ILI secures corporate partners to host fellows who college seniors or graduate students. The fellowship includes real world experience and character and leadership development trainings. Fellows are paid $6,000 directly for their time. Applications for the 2022 Fellowship are currently closed. 2023 applications will open in the Fall.
