CNAs provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. CNAs perform such patient care tasks as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients. Other support tasks such as changing bed linens may also be required. CNAs may also need to transfer or transport patients.

CNAs are in high demand, as an expected 40,000 jobs will be available in healthcare support statewide. CNAs can expect to make anywhere between 20,000 and $32,000 yearly.

CNAs will follow patient care directions from nursing staff, as well as provide basic patient care, such as feeding, bathing, dressing patients. CNAs need to be skilled in patient transport, such as transferring patients from the bed to the bathroom or a chair. Keeping the room, the patient, and the bed clean are also expectations for a CNA. CNAs may also monitor and tend to patient needs.
